Aurecon is more than an engineering, design and advisory company.

The Australian Financial Review (AFR) named them Australasia’s Most Innovative Company and Most Innovative Professional Services Company for 2020. In 2019, they were the first New Zealand engineering company to achieve The Rainbow Tick certification for diversity and inclusion. They maintained accreditation in 2020.

Hardwired in their DNA are engineering, design and the deep need to leave a legacy. They believe humanity depends on engineering and recognise they have a broader stewardship role to play. A deep responsibility to hold. As they continually strive for a life in balance. Aurecon clients will be ready for the future and engineered for life.

What makes Aurecon unconventional?

The people who design a better future for humanity are brave new thinkers.

They need people to draw upon unconventional ideas and piece together solutions to complex challenges.

From using digital technology to plan and restore safe transport access from Manawatū to Hawkes Bay after major landslips, to advising on innovative infrastructure solutions to support the growth and regeneration of Eastern Porirua. To designing a breakthrough solar-powered water treatment plant that provides drinking water to Indigenous and remote communities across Australia.

Join them to make an impact that shifts the world.

Graduate Programme

They’ve reimagined their graduate programme. They’ve said goodbye to rigid schedules and hello to a collaborative environment where graduates have the flexibility to pursue their passions, design, and fast track their career.

As part of a diverse team, graduates will collaborate with others across geographies and markets, applying their skills to re-imagine engineering and design a better future.

They will also work alongside industry-leading professionals, mentors and peers. If they would like to experience numerous areas of Aurecon’s business, they can facilitate that too.

Internship Programme

Choosing a career path as an undergraduate can be challenging. While interns may have an interest in a particular area, they sometimes don’t know which path to follow until they’ve had some practical work experience. In this internship programme, they will be placed in a technical field of their choice (where possible) for approximately three months to gain experience in that field and help them decide if it is right for them.

In their internship programme they can:

  • Get a real taste of what it’s like to work at Aurecon and in their chosen field of study
  • Earn some money during their holidays
  • Work on real projects in a supportive environment
  • Learn from and partner with experienced professionals and current graduates
  • Start building their professional network
  • Get a feel for whether a graduate position at Aurecon is right for them

Aurecon’s internship programme coincides with the university summer break, so students typically start after their exam period in November/December and work through until university resumes in February/March. At the end of the experience, they give their internship students structured feedback on their performance to assist in their professional development.

While open to all students, the programme has been designed for undergraduates ideally in their penultimate year of study.

Aurecon Teams

Due to the wide breadth of services that Aurecon offers, they organise their work and people across several multidisciplinary and diverse teams.

Each of their teams provides exciting career possibilities and the opportunity to work with internationally recognised experts — meaning they get to work with and learn from the best in the business whilst delivering complex and innovative projects in a collaborative peer group spread across the world.

The below table indicates how their degree is best matched for work in specific teams.
