Eligibility:

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be a domestic student (Australian citizen or permanent resident, New Zealand citizen)
  • be applying for or currently undertaking a Higher Degree by Research course (PhD, Professional Doctorate, Masters by Research).
  • RTP Fees Offsets may be offered to international HDR candidates whose application for stipend scholarship has been assessed in a competitive assessment process (University level process only).

Benefits

The scholarship is provided to offset the costs of tuition fees for domestic research students enrolled in higher degree by research courses. For more information see the RTP Fees Offset Conditions of Award.

How to apply

No application required for domestic candidates. This scholarship is automatically awarded to domestic research students undertaking a Higher Degree by Research course at the University of Canberra.

Background

Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) scholarships are funded by the federal government to provide support to postgraduate research students.

From 1 January 2017 the Research Training Program (RTP) Offset Scholarship replaces the Research Training Scheme (RTS), which was previously used by universities to cover the cost of domestic tuition fees.
